Part of our Vape Batteries Guide
Variable voltage batteries let you customize your experience. Understanding how to adjust settings helps you get the best flavor, vapor, and cartridge life.
Why Variable Voltage Matters
Different cartridges and oils work best at different temperatures. Variable voltage lets you dial in the perfect setting rather than accepting a one-size-fits-all approach.
Voltage Guidelines
| Voltage | Temperature | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 2.4-2.8V | Low | Thin oils, max flavor, small hits |
| 2.8-3.2V | Medium | Most cartridges, balanced experience |
| 3.2-3.8V | Medium-High | Thick oils, bigger clouds |
| 3.8V+ | High | Very thick concentrates only |
Finding Your Sweet Spot
- Start at the lowest setting (2.4-2.6V)
- Take a few test hits
- Gradually increase if hits feel too light
- Stop when you find satisfying vapor without harsh taste
Signs Your Voltage Is Wrong
Too Low
- Weak or no vapor
- Have to pull very hard
- Little throat feel
Too High
- Burnt or harsh taste
- Cartridge getting hot
- Coughing excessively
Tips for Best Results
- Start low and increase—you can't un-burn oil
- Thick distillates need more heat than thin oils
- Use preheat mode for cold or thick cartridges
- Lower voltage = better flavor, higher = bigger clouds
- Room temperature affects viscosity
