Why Storage Matters
Hemp flower degrades over time when exposed to:
- Light: UV rays break down cannabinoids and terpenes
- Air: Oxygen causes oxidation, reducing potency
- Heat: Accelerates degradation; THCA can convert to THC
- Humidity: Too much = mold; too little = dry, harsh smoke
Properly stored flower maintains quality for 6-12 months. Poorly stored flower can degrade significantly in just weeks.
The Ideal Storage Environment
Temperature
- Ideal range: 60-70°F (15-21°C)
- Avoid: Heat sources, direct sunlight, refrigerators (too humid), freezers (trichomes become brittle)
- Consistency matters: Temperature fluctuations are worse than a steady slightly-warm temperature
Humidity
- Ideal range: 55-62% relative humidity (RH)
