Part of our Dab Rigs Guide
A carb cap is one of the most important accessories for quality dabs. Here's why you need one and how to use it.
What Does a Carb Cap Do?
A carb cap covers your banger after loading concentrate. This:
- Traps heat for more efficient vaporization
- Lowers the boiling point of concentrates
- Allows lower temperature dabs
- Directs airflow for even heating
Types of Carb Caps
Standard/Flat Caps
Simple caps that cover the banger. Basic but effective.
Directional Caps
Angled airway that directs concentrate around the banger. Better vaporization.
Spinner Caps
Designed to work with terp pearls. Creates spinning action for even heating.
Bubble Caps
Rounded caps with a directional stem. Versatile and popular.
How to Use
- Load your dab into the heated banger
- Immediately place the carb cap on top
- Inhale while rotating or adjusting the cap
- Lift slightly to adjust airflow as needed
Matching Caps to Bangers
Make sure your carb cap fits your banger style. Flat tops need flat caps; round bottoms often work better with bubble caps.
